I'll be the first to confess that a major motivation for making this Christmas gift for my boyfriend was that I thought it might win me some "cool girlfriend points" with his housemates. ^_^. Not that I think I need to win them over. It's just that it can be a little deflating for him sometimes, being the only one in the apartment whose significant other lives thousands of miles away (while the others get constant attention and affection from their SO's, who live much nearer by).

Closeup of the front (my placement of the buttons ended up a bit wonky and inaccurate - I'm calling this a "stylized" version, therefore; not a copy ^_~ ):

Closeup of the back (^_^ Hee! Little red heart; I normally consider myself "allergic" to sap, but on occasion, I can't resist the cheese, in spite of myself...):

The pillow was made of navy corduroy and hand embroidered and applique'd with acrylic felt. I hand-stitched the entire thing, as I'm a complete klutz with a sewing machine, despite having had to take four years of sewing as part of home ec in middle school... (I remember breaking 4 needles in 2 weeks while working on a plush rabbit in seventh grade). My stitching isn't particularly professional, but I don't expect that the bf is going to try and wash this in a machine at any point, so I think it should be okay. :)
