A friend of mine's birthday was a few days ago. So I took a pair of pink and black tiger striped pants she handed down to me ages ago and used them to make something new for her. I remember her telling me that she loved those pants, but just couldn't fit into them any more. Pink isn't my thing, so I never wore them. I just kept thinking they could be useful and held onto them. I'm really glad I did too.
Here is a before of the pants.

I made a pattern from some newspaper advertisements based off my own purse (I really like the shape, so I figured it was a good jumping off point). I only ended up using the fabric from the knee down, so I now I have to figure out if I want to turn them into long shorts and give them away or use the rest of the fabric t make something else.
In any case, here is the purse.

I put some pleats in the fuzzy fabric, but not in the lining. The lining was just some black linen that I had left over from who knows what. I'm just so stoked at how well it came out, and it was well received.
