hard to photo this one [inside, at night] but it's a small rain cloud mobile made from recycled cardboard and stretchy elastic thread [thank you ILHU industries!]

rainmobile

i drew the cloud and raindrops on the cardboard, then cut them out- a pain in the butt b/c the cardboard was too thick- i had to manually crush everything, THEN cut it out.

i poked holes in the back part of the cardboard and threaded elastic thread through the holes, YIKES. my dear friend suggested this thread rather than fishing line b/c fishing line is hard to tie small knots in. well this stuff is great for that, but the stretchiness means tangles stay crazy tangled. bah!

i don't think i'll ever make one of these again- at least in this way, if i could try a different method, then maybe- it was SO frustrating bc the thread kept getting tangled up and the raindrops won't stay facing forward... oh well. :)

any suggestions on how to do this sort of a thing without wanting to kill someone afterwards will be happily accepted!!!
