geetar stand...

ok... i'm taking guitar lessons and i'm finding it really hard to practice and get into it. my teacher says if my guitar is out where i can see it it'll intice me to play.
so here is my question. does anyone know how i could rig an upright stand for my guitar? i was thinking of just putting a hook on my wall but i hae very little wall space :)
this probably is a crazy idea but i was wondering if you crafty gals (and guys) had any hints or ideas...
