the eternal question of what to do for father's day

I made my dad a bobblehead. A bobblehead of the GM of his favorite baseball team.

So yeah, this is Dave Dombrowski. He's the team president, CEO, and GM of the Detroit Tigers.

I know it's rough and ridiculous-looking. The roughness is because I am not in any way, shape, or form a sculptor. The ridiculousness is because it's meant to mimic the purposefully proportionally-wonked cartoons I draw for my blog (which my dad follows) (yes, this entire post is like the absolute dregs of dork).

Here's the guy it's representing in real life:

Here he is in Terrible Cartoon form:

And again, as a bobblehead:

He actually bobbles really well, which kind of surprised me because I didn't know wtf I was doing. The worst part of the entire construction process was cutting the base down to size. It was a spare piece of MDF that was vaguely triangular in shape. I had a handsaw, no clamps, and the arms of a weakling. Good times.

Happy Father's Day, [livejournal.com profile] craftgrrl! I hope all your crafty gifting efforts turned out less absurd than this one. ;)
