craftgrrl | Linked French Knots

I thought this might be interesting for people as I have only seen this stitch in one book, I would love to know if anyone else knows it or has seen it by another name.

I am beginning a mixed media page for thousandcats art/journal/story prompt in which I wanted a bright sunny picture.

I googled antique picture frames and found this painting by Anneliese Fritts named Meadow for my inspiration

My finished size is 1 and 3/4 inches by 1 and ½ inches.

I began by painting a piece of vilene with watercolour paint

I have now started the Linked French Knots for the undergrowth with a single strand of stranded cotton.
