Disclaimer: I am typing this on my phone because our net is down so please excuse my typos.

I have (about) a yard of some fabric that I would like to make into a diaper bag. It is just thin cotton so obviously it won't work by itself. I also have a pair or two of old jeans that I can sacrifice for stability.

I have never attempted a project like this before so I'm not really sure where to begin. I n would like it to be sort of a messenger bag style for ease of carrying and also because I think that the huge diaper bags that people carry around are super obnoxious. I guess I just want an enlarged purse where I can also carry a few diapers and a change of baby clothes.

Do Yi think it would work to use denim for the inner lining and the other cotton for the outside (the part that shows)? I will prewash everything of course so as to avoid shrinkage issues. I have a good idea of how to make pockets. I guess I'm just not sure what to do first. I haven't found a really awesome pattern so Maye that is my issue here.

I know this is all really open ended but if anyone has any helpful advice or links to patterns/tutorials that would be fantastic! I should note that I have a HUGE supply of crafting materials so I am trying to only use what I have instead of buying more stuff. I don't have any interfacing (I don't really Eben know what it is) so I'm not sure if that is a necessary part of this project or not.

Thank you for any help you have!
