As far as my duct tape adventurings go I've only ever put together a wallet. However, I find myself in need of a shoulder bag that I can use to carry around a DiscMan, approximately 10 CDs, and a sketchpad. Before I break out the roll of duct tape and go nuts I thought I'd check around Google and various LJ communities and see what other people have been doing (especially since I don't have my heart set on a specific design yet). Unfortunately it seems that nobody else has attempted a couple of the design features I'd like to include:

1) I want to braid three small strips of duct tape to make the shoulder strap as opposed to using a single broad strip. Aside from the exceedingly long time this will take, are there any drawbacks to this approach? Is there anyone out there who has attempted this and knows the best way to go about it?

2) The only way I can see to make the CD sleeves is to extrapolate from the card sleeves in the duct tape wallet design. Does anyone fully understand how the non-sticky side of duct tape interacts with naked CDs? I'd hate to ruin my music. Another thing to consider is making the sleeves transparent. How does clear packing tape interact with naked CDs? Do packing tape and duct tape get along well as part of the same piece?

3) I have *no* idea how to pull off the multiple-dedicated-pockets approach (i.e. one pocket for the DiscMan, another pocket for the sketchbook and pens, with CD sleeves thrown in wherever works). All the designs I'm finding online seem far simpler than the concept I have in my head. Anything you guys know about multiple-pocketed duct tape bags would help me a lot.

4) I think I want to use either velcro to keep the pockets closed or a kind of belt-buckle fastening. Are there any tutorials for incorporating either trait?
