A Question on Crinkle Cotton

Here's a question for all of you wonderful sewing types. I'm making a peasant blouse out of some crinkle cotton, but I've had issues working with the stuff in the past. When you I pin it to the pattern pieces, should I stretch it out first, or let it stay in its little crinkly world?
