Iron ons or something of the like

I have a jpg of an image I want desperately to put onto a canvas bag of some sort to use as my knitting bag. This is something I simply have no idea how to do reliably though I'm sure its boring old territory for most of you. I know that some iron on transfer things don't stay or something. Or maybe I am wrong. Even so I don't even know what kind of paper I am looking for to print the image out on, or for that matter where to buy such a thing. Or if I should try and go to a copy shop for a better color print. I don't actually have a printer but I can use somone elses. I am in the Boston area if that matters for shopping locales. Any help is appreciated. I am more of a frustrated crafter but I have been inspired by the ingenuity of the people since I started watching the group. I kind of think creative but not so much on the follow through. Time to change that I hope so offer me suggestions and like wish me luck. Thanks!!
