[identity profile] satinworship.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] craftgrrl
Okay, this is my first completed craft project ever. I can't sew or crochet or draw, I can barely cut in a straight line. So when I came across this community and saw all of the nifty decoupage stuff I decided to give it a try. My parents are always giving me crappy furniture so this is what I did with it:

A bookcase covered with 80's 45 sleeves, made even tackier with glitter modpodge and acrylic sealant!

You can't see the glitter very well, but there's quit a bit of it. The black part is construction paper, I could've used paint but it was kind of a "I wonder what this will look like?" thing. You can see where the paper overlaps but i'm not too worried about it. There a few big air bubbles, but overall i'm very proud of it. Now, some questions.

One, i'm planning on doing the same thing to a table, it's round with three legs and is one of those where you throw a table cloth on and then put a circle of glass on top to hold it down. I was thinking adding some kind of skirt would be nice, but I have no skills when it comes to cloth. I was thinking of stapling something to the sides...strings of beads, etc., any suggestions?

I bought two sets of these boxes at Michaels today:

And I need some cool painting techniques. I like the idea of painting them and taking a mini blow torch to scorch the paint, has anyone done this before who could give me tips?

(p.s. : I'm still a little high off of the sealant fumes, sorry for any typos or not making sense.)
