The "finished" "book"
Oct. 5th, 2003 10:45 amIn quotation marks because it's not really finished (that's for him to do) and it's not really a book! It's our anniversary today, so I don't have to wait too long before giving it to him.

The outside of the book. Note the addition of the gold paper on the spine - I tried to do some more gold foil and failed miserably. Covered it up quite nicely, don't you think?

The inside, this time with stuff in it! There are lined pages for him to write on, and graph paper for his comics. That page at the front has a letter for him - it's the girliest part of the book but I figure he can take it out.

Sample page - I took some quotations from his favourite books and printed them out. With this one (from A Series of Unfortunate Events, by Lemony Snicket) I also traced a picture from the book onto vellum, and put it over the quotation. Other quotations are from Catch-22, Pride and Prejudice, a story by Haruki Murakami, and The Great Gatsby, and I also printed out a panel from www.scarygoround.com.

The photo pages - under the tissue on the left you can see the pocket I put in to hold negatives and magic dots. The rest of the pages are blank.
I'd love to do more, especially more vellum, but that's enough I think. The rest of the book is for him to fill up!
