i JUST finished my second purse (yes, i know it's 1:30 am). i started at 9pm!! FOUR AND HALF HOURS! but i am very happy with the results even though i had some problems doing the bottom corners. my sewing machine also decided to go crazy on me. oh well, i fixed that. now, time for pictures!

Hi, I'm a newbie to this community. I joined yesterday :) I love making friendship bracelets, hemp bracelets, and working with seed beads (of course: bracelets)... and I was looking around on some communities and I saw these people selling Toothbrush Bracelets. I was wondering how do you do them because I have these awesome teethbrush (kiddie kind) that I would love to wear...

Henry, he doesn't quite know what he is! Is he a cat? a squirel? Nope he is just a bathrobe reborn..atleast now he has eyes to see! And a body to squish and love!!

I found this ugly furry pink bathrobe at a yardsale this weekend. I washed it and cut it up...And somehow Henry appeared. He said he hated being a bathrobe, for he often was rubbed up against naked butts! Poor thing, anyhow ...
I love sewing, dont you? :)

grr.

due to livejournal's evil changes, it is nearly impossible for any free member to search for communities. so does anyone know if there's a fashion design community? i *know* i looked at one once, but i don't know what it was called... thanks in advance.

Does anyone have two D-rings they could spare? I would pay shipping and money for them via paypal. I do not need to place a bulk order at this time. I want to try making a belt before doing the buying in bulk thing.

Also did someone say Ready Made magazines were going high on ebay? how much did they go for? There is a lot up now...Not my auction though!

Hello-- I've got a bit of a quick emergency question here...

I've got ink jet iron-on transfer material which notes it needs to be a polyester or cotton-poly blend shirt to transfer to.

I can only find 100% cotton shirts in my size and price range with no time to order anything online.

So-- will it just be a fiasco to try and use the 100% cotton? Or should I just give up and wait till the day I find some in poly-cotton blend...

Thank you!!!

Does anyone know how to make beanies and stocking caps? I saw hats at Genki Gang and figured I could make some of them if I knew what the pattern was...

Hi. I'm new to the community and thought I'd share. This is the first bag I've made...

Bag )
[identity profile] --heavythoughts.livejournal.com
Well, today, I made my sister a purse, made out of canvas material. It has a picture of Dorothy from Wizard of Oz on it, since that is her fav. movie. And then the next two pictures are two bags I made for myself. The pictures are of Marilyn Monroe, and the first one I made for school, so I can put my binder in it, and the second one is just a little bag. Its the same size as the first one. And then the last pic is a picture of my curtains i made last week.

pictures!! )

hi all.
just doing a little moderating etc.

tonight i updated the user info page. i added and subtracted a few rules and tidbits, please check it out.

the one section i must stress is the no selling/buying/trading policy. i am copying this here so i know we are all on the same page about it and so that ever joining newbies are aware of it as well.

here on [livejournal.com profile] craftgrrl there is to be NO BUYING/SELLING/TRADING!
[i will strictly enforce this. posts violating this rule will be automatically deleted.]

reasons for this are:
1) it creates too much traffic
2) we are not here to capitalize, we are here to show off our ideas + talent
3) selling is technically spam and there are communities made specifically for selling - please read the LJ terms of service for more info

so, if you're looking to sell/trade your crafts and that's it, please visit these communities first:

thanks for all of your cooperation, you guys rock! also, i really appreciate your support. thank you all so much.

keep the great ideas, pictures, and projects coming!
