seems like a lot of people are talking about xmas gifts already so i figured i would ask around here about something i've been thinking of making for my mom. last xmas and for mother's day i got her flavored coffees and she loved them. i was wondering if anyone has any ideas for me to give her coffees again but dress it up somehow? i was thinking of making those mixing spoons that have chocolate on them but what else should i put in a coffee themed gift basket?
thanks everyone :)

i posted about the record crates my mother saved for me a while back, but i finally have pictures to show. unfortunately, it's too cold out now for me to take them outside and polyurethane them, so they may remain unfinished for a while yet.

Anyone know any cool things to do with bottle caps besides a belt? I found a whole coffee can full o' them in my grandpa's house. They even have cork in them, not like the ones today which are cork-less. What kinda paint do you suppose would work best?

I had a box of crayons laying around in my bedroom for almost three years. So an idea struck me... and I grabbed a pot of water to boil, and another little one to melt the crayons in like you would wax for candles. I had a little paint brush and decided to make some art. I melted crayons one by one... wild colors and then as time went on I did 3 of the same color and cut the time down. It took 2 hrs and I have to say.. open a window if you choose to do this... it gave me a headache you could not believe. But I love the final piece. It will be the wall art that will go with the Batik Quilt I am hoping to finish sewing tomorow, or the next day or atleast by next weekend.. cause I have to start on the other ones after this.... What do you think of it?? It has the rough texture look about it also... which I dont know if I want an open frame it or not.. well see.

Hi! I'm new to the community, but have been reading/commenting for about two days. I made some stuff today/yesterday, and have been going on a crafting binge. My crafting site

Hey everyone.

I'm extremely new to crafts. Actually, I've never really done any major craft projects. But my mom's birthday is coming up (Oct. 12) and I'd like to make her something nice, yet simple. The problem is, not only am I a beginner, but I'm short on time, materials and money.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what I could make her?

I keep hearing about these pop-can belts that people are making but I can't find a tutorial anywhere. Can anyone hook me up? Thanks!
