(no subject)

I needed a gift wrap idea that wasn't frilly or flowery or feminine, and in line with my love of using kraft paper and keeping it cheap, simple and rustic, I came up with this. )

I can smell you

A friend of mine is a huge fan of the movie UP! and with her birthday coming up I decided I wanted to get her some form of collectors item from the movie. Either they were too expensive or nothing tickled me hard enough so I decided to make my own.

I am a horrible secret keeper and I have been wanting to share these photos for days now but since the birthday girl had not received it yet I did my best to refrain. Well today I got the “I got it! I love it!” phone call which means I can now share my UP! tea cup with you.

Beanie.

A fun warm beanie I finished last night. The thread is from a portuguese brand called CarĂcia, especially made for baby clothes. It's 70% acrylic, 30% wool and it's unbelievably soft. I doubled the thread to make it chunkier. The skull and bones pattern was based in a random one I found online and changed by me. The 2-thin-stripes-1-thick-stripe-2-thin-stripes pattern is my thing. Really, I just really like this pattern. :P

Also, I look like half my age in these pics. -____- )
