A holiday event

On December 13th, I'm going to be volunteering at a shelter. Basically we're going to have a holiday party for about 100 kids, all between the ages of 4-8. I'm on the arts and crafts commitee. I'm stuck for ideas..however...and I really want this to be nice for them.


My mom suggestested "decorate your own" something, and I thought of maybe "decorate your own felt bears." I was planning on sewing up some really simple felt bears/stuffed animal things ..and either cutting out pieces of felt and providing glue or bringing different colored markers so the kids could draw on the bears.


Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm 17..so I don't really have access to a huge amount of funds..and it's gotta be something I can get ready by the 13th.

Any help would be much appreciated.
