jeans long skirt

is there anythign i need to be aware of when i turn a pair of my jeans into along skirt? they fit perfectly in the waist, but the crotch is low and baggy. i was just going to cut out the inner leg seams and sew the legs together, i couldnt find anythign in teh FAQ...
