hi there!

This is my first post, so hi to all you creative geniuses! I've been lurking in the shadows for quite some time now, and I'll get around to posting my latest crafty explorations as soon as I get pictures of them all.Now I think it's about time I got to the actual pupose of this post.

My sweet sixteen is coming up in a few months (early July), and since I'm a control freak, my best buds and family are not going to get away with a surprise party. So I'd like to start planning now so I can invite all the people I wouldn't normally see around my birthday during the summer. This has been an exciting year for me since I have overcome some major shyness issues and really come out of my shell so and made a lot new friends, I'd like to have a fairly big, fun party that everyone will enjoy. Does anyone have any ways to use my (or your) creative abilities to cut cost? What about ways to maximise space or even a creative, cheap place to have the party? I have a teensy house and a poorly lain backyard that is dominated by one of those crappy float-up style pools(its about 2 ft deep--pool party = out of the question) Also, do theme parties, and seemingly childish games seem to go over well with the high school crowd? I think it would be a blast, but I'm a little out of the ordinary and I've always been more than slightly out of touch with my generation. Most of this post was slightly off subject, I think. But any advice would be awesome. Thanks ahead of time!
