felted tote
picture of knitted bag
after first wash
after second wash

before felting i had a shakespeare book inside the bag to help it stand up. so after the first felting i again placed the book inside (it still needed a little help standing up and to get a size reference)... after the second wash i again placed the book inside (but this time for size reference only because it stands on its own). for anyone who doesn't have the william shakespeare the complete works the bag started out at about 12 ½ inches high, and about 26 inches around. and is now about 8 high and 20 around. i decided that it could probably stand to be felted again... but i like the size of the bag now and dont really wanna risk it getting to small for my comfort level in carrying the bag.
*i used patons classic wool merino in dusky blue and blueberry held together
**pattern i used for the bag http://www.frugalhaus.com/homepage/freetote.htm
