Crocheting

Here are some pictures of what I have been working on lately.  The pictures suck, I know...so I took some little picutes of what the yarn really looks like so you can get some form of an idea.
I had to take them in my bathroom and that is why the pictures suck.  I promise...tomorrow..if it is not rainign and wet outside (like it was today) I will take them outside and snap pictures.
Okay, I will shut up now.

This is a blanket my mom and I have been working on.  I did the flowers and the leaves...she did the white parts and sewed them together.  Then I did the border.
Also, it is done in acrylic yarn....Red Heart.  But whatever my mom washed it in made it soooo soft.  For once I cannot wait for a cold night.  I want to use it so bad.  It is hefty too.
I believe...it costs less than $18 to make.  We got the yarn on sale at A.C. Moore for $1.50 a skein and the pattern book we got at Wal-Mart for $0.50.

This is the pattern book it came from...to give you an idea of what it is suppose to look like.  My mom modified it a little bit to make the sqaures more open.  (I stole the picture off of someone's eBay acution.  I don't have a scanner to get a picture of my own book.  But I guarantee you it is the same pattern).

Here are the actual colors of the yarn we used...It was the 6 ounce skeins.  They go together sooo pretty.
Flowers & Border:  (372 Rose Pink)
Leaves & Border:  (362 Spruce)
Squares:  (313 Aran)

I wanted to prove to myself that I could make more then blankets and scarves...I wanted to actually follow a pattern....so...
I took this dress pattern:

And made this dress:  (I also made a matching hat to go along with this, but obviously this picture did not show up well enough to even tell it was a hat)

And here's the back:  (I still have to add buttons and hide some ends.  I absolutely refuse to put anything but the perfect buttons on it, so I am still in the process of looking)

I made three of them.  That one above in the 9-12 months size...another one in the 9-12 months size and an 18 months size.
Here are the colors I used:  I used Bernats Baby Coordinates although the pattern did not call for it.
Dress #1:  White 16600901000 and Aqua / Lemon 16600901101  I also made a matching hat for this one.

Dress #2:  (18 months size)  White 16600901000 and Lovely Lilac - NEW 16600909317

Dress #3:  (another 9-12 months size)  Lovely Lilac - NEW 16600909317 and Sweet Pink - NEW 16600909412

My mother thought it was a bad idea to put the purple and pink together, but I think it is coming out lovely.  I am still in the process of making this one.  But as a bonus at this sewing place by my brothers business I found purple and pink elephant elephant beads.  They were $0.70 (that's a lot for my cheapass to pay) a piece, but go perfect with this dress.

Oh yeah...I had to throw Carl into this.  He was going crazy.  He's a camera whore...seriously.  I was taking pictures and he hopped up on the sink and stuck his face in my camera...lol...he's sitting on the couch watching me type this right now.

Also...I don't have pictures of this...but I made my sister-in-law a tampon holder.  I took and modified an eyeglass holder pattern.  She travels a lot and sells pharm. supplies and last month she had her manager with her and he's this stuffy uppity guy and she couldn't grab a tampon out in front of him..she was embarassed to...so I made her that.  It is black and it has a button closure.  It looks like it holds either eyeglasses or tissues.  She can grab it and not feel weird.
I also made a crochet hook holder...it holds everything else too..scissors..etc.
Uhh I believe that is all I can think of for now...crocheting wise.

Next I want to make a sweater or something.  I saw a pattern for a baby hoodie and I sooo want to make it.  Heh.
