Knitting Armwarmers

So I had been wanting to work with the sari silk yarn for aeons... ok ok since I started knitting in summer. it was, most likely the fiber that tipped the scales in the favour of "gee, I need a new hobby" This is my first adventure in double ended needles and "thumb gussetting" easy peasy. The Sari Silk yarn (blended here with "purple silky wool in summerweight) was a bit tempramental as it is often over spun and requires a lil bit of untwisting it (not too much!) and I learned the hard way that yes, you should have a good friend help you unwind the yarn... or for heavens sake, put it on your feet or knees or something, don't just tug at it and make a tangled ball!

More pics behind cut:

They are wicked heavy and even sans ribbing they stand up pretty well.. though if they relax alot I may be inclined to take some string elastic and weave it throughout (since they are substantial enough to disobey any sort of "top elastics"

I made it up as i went along... its all terribly exciting... though I hope to learn to take better notes so that my right handed warmer knows what the left handed warmer did!
