hello everyone.i just joined. :]

ive been lurking around here for about week and everyone here is awesomly gifted.i love everyones ideas and everything.ive been getting into do all sorts of crafts and stuff lately and im excited to get started.well i finally got my mom to let me re-do my room and part of the deal is that i would have to keep my ugly, fuzzy pink comforter and i could customize it or whatever in any way i wanted to.well my idea is to get all diffrent colors of fabric and cut out star shapes and sew them on top of the fuzzy part and like keep adding stars all over until i cover it all.my problem is that i dont wanna take the whole pink backing off and replace it with another cover and sew that one,so i was thinking i could sew on the stars and then just take a new cover and sew it over the pink so it covered the stiching and still have a new color on the bottom part instead of the pink.does any one think this is a good idea,or should i just take the orginal back off and then sew on a new the new back? thanks for any help :D
