crocheted bag
size: 6" x 8"
100 yd ball, size 3 mercerized cotton
hook size E (3.50 mm)
yarn needle
Gauge: 21 sts = 4"
Rnd 1 (right side): ch 42; 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, scin next 39 ch, 4 sc in last ch; on other edge of ch, sc in next 39 ch, 2 sc in last ch; sl st in first sc (86 sc). Work all rnds from right side. Mark beg of rnds. Rnd 2: sc in each sc. repeat rnd 2 until 6" from beg; end last rnd sl st in first sc. fasten off.
Handle (make 2): Row 1: ch 9. sc in 2nd ch from hoo and each ch across (8 sc). Row 2: ch 1, turn. sc in each sc across. repeat row 2 u ntil piece measures 13". fasten off. sew or sl st long edges tog, leaving 4 rows free at each end.
Finishing: spread ends of handle flat and sew to front 1¼" from sides and 1" below top. repeat on back.
They're really rather small, but once you make a couple of these and get the hang of it, its easy enough to use it as a rough template to make larger ones
