Brolly and Gloves (Dyed)
My junior high school prom was on Friday (the thirteenth hah) and I wanted to be the belle of the ball. So I decided I must have long, golden gloves and a lovely little parasol that I saw in KB Toys last summer. Sadly, the parasol and gloves were shockingly white- colors that would truly clash with my ivory dress. So I got some Writ Dye and got to work.

...
AFTER:

Oooh.. ahh.
For both of them I used a mixture of Yellow and Tan dye. I soaked the gloves and used a little spritz bottle to spray the umbrella with the dye. When the rinsing, washing, and such were done, I spray painted the handle, tip, and fringe of the parasol with gold. Lurvely.
And, as a bonus, have a stylized picture of myself with my happy lil parasol (sans gloves- the dance floor got hot!)

Our school gave us little 24 picture photo albums at the end of prom. During the entire prom, I took pictures of every friend in arms leangth with my parasol. Now I have a super sweet series of pictures filling up the album. Priceless.
