THE MOLTING SEASON10" x 20" abstract painting. This is painted primarily in acrylic, with some paper collage (from a phonebook), black ink, and my handwriting. The colors and texture are even more rich when you view this piece close up, and you can even read some of my handwriting around the edges and within the main tree's trunk.
My degree is in English literature, and writing often plays a huge role in the art I create. For me, this piece is about transition, seasonal and emotionally, summer ends, skin sheds, change, change, grow.
