PRETTY! :)

I'm planning to make fingerless gloves (http://ohmystars.net/craft/index.htm) to match out of

(I swear, it really does match well!), but I'd like to have some of what the scarf is around the edges. The issue with this is that the green yarn is MUCH thicker than the others, so I'm not sure how to do it. Should I just do the cuff part in the fuzzy goodness and then start with the wool? Or do the whole thing in wool and add fuzzy goodness later? and if I add it later, how the heck do I do that?? (please excuse the naive knitter. who can only kind of crochet, in case your advice involves crochet. :) )
Thank you thank you!
