Victorian Inspired Kimonolets

I've been really inspired with Victorian style fashion lately and I've incorporated it in with some of my kimono fabric items I normally make.

I made some new kimonolets/wrist cuffs and this time round, I experimented with vintage laces, faux pearl buttons and cameos. I was thrilled with how many of these came out! The body of the cuff is made from vintage kimono fabrics.

These are my favourite out of the lot:

Also - I want to recommend a product if I may. I was orginally using the dritz brand snap fastener tool (the one that kinda works like pliers) and for the first round of kimonolets I made months ago - they worked fine....but for these ones - they just wouldn't work properly at all. I strugged with them and gave up in a fit.

I did some researching and I found this website:

I ordered their fastener tool and a bunch of silver snap fasteners. I cannot express how HAPPY I am with this purchase. It was a breeze to use - and I got professional results right off the bat. As a bonus - they have a large selection of all sorts of colours in the rings fasteners, cap fasteners and pearl fasteners. So if anyone else is struggling with the dritz tool - I say give the snap source tool a go :)
