dumpster diving for patterns
Feb. 2nd, 2006 09:33 pmHello ladies! Thought I might share some insider info. I work at a Jo-Ann Superstore and today I was helping one of my managers with patterns. We had to go through a long list of all of our Simplicity and Butterick patterns and THROW THEM OUT. I wasn't allowed to take any, but I do know that the memo to do so was sent from the companies to every Jo-Ann store (making room for their new Spring patterns. My point being that NOW is the time to go dumpster diving at your local Jo-Ann.
I had to leave before we were finished but we were already throwing out 2 full shopping carts (mine alone had about 350). The patterns were of everything. Old lady type clothes, tailored men's clothing, regular children's and fancy children's clothing, a wedding gown or two, and at least one historical type dress.
Not sure if anyone here would want this info, but I thought I could throw it out there since we are just throwing them out (what a waste!).
Also, the memo stated that this had to be done no earlier than January 29, no later than February 10. Good luck!
