I have a quick question. 

I am a beginner and can crochet a square =)  in a circle =)  and a sperm =) 

but I was wondering, 

I want to crochet a coaster in the shaped of a human.   Like arm, legs /head.  See picture.

how do you crochet this shape/ start? 












I want the feet/leg bottom to look like this, rounded



It's a single crochet, but how do I get the sides to curl up?  Could some one direct me to a tutorial or explain to me how to make it rounded instead of square?
