[edit: am trying to figure out why my cut didn't work right... sorry]
hello everyone,
i've been lurking here for a while, and am finally getting up the nerve to actually post something.
a little history... i used to be quiet crafty in my young teen years, but by various reasons, just kinda stopped. so, this is my attempt at a come back.
[if the pictures are too big, let me know and i'll resize them.]
really, my new found craftiness began when i impulse-bought a skirt off ebay. it had a cute anchor on it, so i liked it. however, when i got in the the mail, there were things on it i hadn't noticed before... like a bible verse on the front, and something about a christan cruise line on the back. this doesn't work for me, as i myself am not religious. so, i decided to attempt a cover-up project. i bought a bunch of fabric paint and had at it. i covered the bible verse with two nautical stars, and the cruise line thing on the back with a compass. i also "finished" the anchor. then i splattered paint on it.
the problem? i like very simple things, and don't like things to look too "busy." therefore, i will probably be attempting to sell this skirt. but i would like opinions on whether you guys think this is even sellable.
also, i am dumb and deleted the "before" pictures before i uploaded them.
anyway, here is the final product:
front:

now on to things i've actually worn since creating them.
i'm a really big fan of stars (if that wasn't already obvious by my lj name and half of my icons). therefore, the designs i've painted thus far have all been stars:

and last but not least, a necklace i made my mom for her birthday. my camera really sucks... i really feel the necklace is so much more beautiful in real life (if i do say so myself ^^'')

also wanted to say that you all are amazing at everything that you do. every project that i've seen here has given me a lot of inspiration. thanks. :D
