Maternity pants recon and baby miiiiitens

In other news, I'm out of work pants that fit, traitors. So I made these. Not a perfect sucess but they don't try to kill me.

Werewolves

Recently, our friend [livejournal.com profile] kwamagu introduced our game night group to a werewolf card game that is turning out to be very fun. We have just been using old playing cards on which he’s written things with a permanent marker. I’ve since become a bit obsessed with crafting a fun deck of cards; I use MS Publisher for these types of things. I’m using one of those online cartoon head generators to decorate the cards and am combining a variety of rules and research online to gather together some best practices and a workable group of special characters. I’ve got color coding, rules, and informational cards for the moderator. I’m really having a lot of fun playing with the cartoon generator and getting the characters “just right.” My buck-toothed, cross-eyed villager is really hysterical. I’ll crank them all out onto card stock once I get everything ironed out.

Mike, as usual, is poking fun at how obsessed I get over something so foolish. But I’m having fun. Crafting is my crack.

I’ll be sure to post pictures or screen shots soon!

Stay away from this pattern if you value your sanity

Why has this pattern been sitting unloved and unused for 25 years?

Photobucket

Because it sucks.

Whoever designed this thing had to have been sniffing glue, or perhaps otherwise impaired.
My hunch is that the good folks at Butterick patterns simply cheaped out and used the commercial patterns, then hired a trained chimp to write the directions.
Things like carefully cutting out a perfect circular hole, and lining it up directly with another perfect circle and sewing it on. Or calling for you to sew EIGHT layers of fake fur at once.

Don't you hate it when you reach the point of frustration, but have already invested too much time/money to quit the project?

But I finally triumphed.

I've been watching this community for a long time. I just can't remember if I have actually ever posted anything before.  Lol.

Knotted necklaces

hi all,

I own a couple of necklaces that are connected together with a couple of knots that slip to adjust, rather than using metal clasps.
I decided to make a few of my own, as this sort of jewellery is quite quick to do and is far kinder on the hands than bending bits of metal about with pliers!

Zip purse frustration!

I've been trying to perfect my lined zip purse technique but no matter what I do I keep on running into the same problem. The end where the zip stop is looks lovely, but the end where the zip itself rests is puckered. I'm following this tutorial and I can't see where I'm going wrong - only both my ends don't end up as flat and pretty as hers, only one does!

Can anyone shed any light on what I might be doing wrong?

2 things

Alright, I'm moving and I've come to realize that I have 100s of magazines. Lately I've been making different stuff out of them like a bowl and a wall decoration.

Does anyone have any links to crafts made out of magazines?

I don't know if this is allowed or not but does anyone want some magazines? You'd just have to pay postage. I'm discovering all kinds of fun stuff to make out of them!
