Scrapbooks?

Alright, I'm looking for the perfect scrapbook, because, well, I'm getting engaged soon which of course will throw my boyfriend and I both into a whirlwind of different events and parties that we'll always want to remember, etc. etc.  So, I need to document it.  Thus brings me to the search for a scrap book.  I've found a "few" bridal ones, that I like.  I've looked onto many website, and even in Michael's and Joann's.  I want a scrapbook that doesn't have slip covers.

Like, here for instance.

I like, this, but you'll see the note below it that says, "Includes 10 top-loading page protectors with paper inserts."

I want everything in the open for invitations, etc.  But Maybe I'm being too picky.  I know they make them, because I have one that I used for when I was in highschool, a few moons ago.  Do they have a different name?  Surely someone knows what I'm talking about and where to find them.

(no subject)

My husband is out of town for the week and since I'm alone, I'm crafting. The little one I nanny for (and her cousin, who I used to nanny for) is/are turning two (their birthdays are a week or two apart), so I've been working on gifts for them. I decided that felt play food might be fun, so here's what I've got so far. I made two of each. Pancakes with syrup and a butter pat and blueberry poptarts.

Sewing question

I'm using this tutorial to make a bag for my mom. I've made two other bags with this tutorial, so I'm pretty comfortable with it. The difference this time, is that I'm doing two-sided straps for my mom's bag. My question is, when putting the straps between the lining and the outer fabric, how do I make sure that the top of the straps is, well, on top?

pic for reference )

The outer fabric is the yellow, and the lining is the gingham. Thanks in advance!

How to Craft a Compost Pile

Recent yardwork projects have left us with an abundance of grass clippings and wood chips. I decided this was an excellent time to build a compost pile. The method I chose involves some crafting, as it creates a whole pile at once rather than a space into which you can throw yard trash over time. I was pleased to find that my skill at building compost piles has not diminished much, although it's been quite a few years since the last time I did it.
