Scarves for Vets
In the spirit of WWII era knitting for soldiers, the National World War II Museum has a program where you can knit or crochet scarves for veterans. All the pertinent information can be found here:
http://www.nationalww2museum.org/calendar/knit-your-bit.html
It's an ongoing program, and a neat way to use your craft to give back to the community.

A question
I am trying to make something for my daughter's room that she can hang on her wall and use as a magnet board. I have the magnetic paint, but am wondering if anyone here has has ever tried decoupaging over maybe 2-3 coats of magnetic paint? I will be using modge podge for the decoupage and images from either magazines or copied and printed from books or the internet on a high quality printer.
Any thoughts, suggestions, or experiences would be appreciated. If this works I think I might try turning a few cheap Ikea shadow boxes into open make up storage art.

Fringe and Feathers Scarf
Well I was completely inspired yesterday and I'm pleased to post that I created another beautiful scarf (see my journal for more!)
The fringe is made out of black jersey knit fabric, and the quill-tips of the feathers are covered with rows of black ribbon. Questions? Comments? I would love to hear from you! Email me!

fabrication through rubber casting
Does anyone have any experience with making rubber casts? I am trying to find an inexpensive product to use to fabricate a lot of small statues that I have collected and wish to use in my artwork.
If anyone has any advice or ideas, websites or forums to point me to that would be wonderful!
Thanks!
