Scaley man fish Old Gregg

This is my epic Old Gregg doll complete with his own bottle of Bailey's. He's a character from The Mighty Boosh, a British comedy show that just got popular here in America recently. It is a birthday gift for a friend who just got heavily into British comedy, hooray! He stands a huge 21" tall and is made of worsted weight acrylic yarn, polyfill, plus a tiny bit of felt for his tie. I hope you enjoy!

Do ya love me? )

Creepy Clown Doll

Hi everyone! Stopping by to share one of my latest dolls...

Upcycling!

What do you think of, in relation to art/craft/making, when you hear the term upcycling? Reusable bags crocheted from grocery store plastic? Jewelry from obsolete tech? Weaving old t-shirts on a scrapwood loom?

How about swords? )

:D

A LOT of new stuff to share! A lot.
I recently got myself a sewing machine (FINALLY) I had been handsewing everything up until now. So now I'm waaay faster so I have a lot of work to show.

Some things I've done recently )

Necklace from found clay pipe parts

I spent Saturday washing the 16th century clay pipes we bought home from our last trip to London, found on the foreshore of the Thames around the Southbank.

The Museum of London has some lovely pages on the clay tobacco pipes found in the Thames here.  I wasn't lucky enough to find anything so complete as to include a makers mark or even any kind of bowl part, but we've said we'll get more next time - maybe I'll be more lucky then.

After washing them all off and getting years of clay, sediment and tobacco out & off of them, they looked like this:

Check out the awesome little-bit-of-spoon I found too - I shall definitely do something special with that one day.

Most of them are quite fine and white and bone-like, washed smooth by the tides...

It's been about forever and a day...

Since I actually posted something that I made. Here's another funtastic duct tape purse with matching wallet I made. If you're wondering how all the stars are so like identical it's because I use a cookie cutter to imprint the image on the tape and then cut it out!
