i have a question about the fimo plugs. could you cover them with nail polish? i've done that with other earrings ive made (a hoop made out of thick electrical wire). OR i was thinking covering the whole thing with clear coat- its like a liquid to solid thing that people put on their table tops or floors, clear plastic. i've used it with jewelry before and maybe this would work over the fimo~ making it look glass.
