First Sewing Machine - Would Love Help!
Apr. 8th, 2008 06:57 pmHi grrls,
I joined this community a while ago and have been lurking and marvelling at all the fabulous things you've created. And now I'm inspired!!
Does anyone have sewing machine recommendations? I'm in the market for my first machine. I am a true beginner but I plan to use the machine for clothes, crafts, and eventually some light upholstery. I'd like to get a machine that's not going to conk out on me, so I'm okay with making an investment on a better machine that's going to last awhile and be a better machine than I am a sewer. I'm not looking to spend more than say $500, though, so nothing too high end.
I've done some research and this one seems like a good one - anyone have advice about that machine? I hear that Singer is a pretty decent brand in general. I have a friend who sews and she advised me to stay away from Brother as a brand.
Would love any help or advice that anyone has - I'm so excited to get my first sewing projects going!
Thank you all!
