Knitting & Sewing
Jun. 13th, 2008 10:46 pmWhew, now that I have caught up on this community, it's time to share the stuff I've been working on! (You skip a couple days on the internet and come back to a hundred crafty posts! You ladies have been busy!)
I recently finished my first real sock knit in the round!

I've mostly been working on the other one only at knit night once a week, so it's progressing slowly.

I made Knitty's Coachella for my boyfriend's mom for sort-of-Mother's-Day (since she's not my mother, and it was late!)

I just finished a sweater for myself too! Knitty's Emerald:

It was still somewhat cool and cloudy outside as I was adding the sleeves, so I thought I might actually get a chance to wear it soon, but once I finished knitting it was 95 degrees outside. And the sweater is 100% bulky wool!

This is my favorite detail, the raglan cables:

And last but not least, I made this "needle roll" to store my interchangeable circular needles in (they came in a cheap-looking and bad-smelling plastic sleeve thing).
The whole thing, closed:

And open:

The top pocket is zippered, and the bottom has velcro, and in the middle is this area for the needles themselves (this part definitely took the longest--hours!)
