craftgrrlRecently I hit 2000 pageviews on DeviantArt, which is a huge deal for me, so I offered up a kiriban prize for lucky number 2000th. The winner asked for a pair of Zelda-themed slippers. I was very excited! This seemed like such a fantastic project.
It took me a while but they're finally done now. I choose Windwaker Link because I think his style suits embroidery better than Ocarina Link.
Outer and lining is microfleece (nope, never going to stop loving that stuff) and quilted in between is a comfysoft layer of pure wool batting. These slippers are snuggly. The triforce is felt, hand-appliqued. actually, both slippers are 100% hand-sewn, hand-appliqued, hand-embroidered.
The puff paint grip dots came out much, much better with brand new paint and it was both fun and a little creepy to watch them puff up under the hairdryer.
