decorating a book

I recently got received a book from bookmooch with mild stains (prewarned!) on the cover. This is a copy of a library book I *loved* for years which was all black. The stained part is kinda an offgrey, so I was thinking I would just paint it black.

However, due to the magical nature of the book (Support Your Local Wizard :D) I decided some little designs would be in order.

Anyone have any ethereal or mystical looking designs they'd like to suggest? Colorwise, the spine-text is a shiny gold, and I think I have some gold/copper acrylic paint left over (plus a wide variety of normal acrylics). Images appreciated, of course!
