His name is Herbert...
Apr. 8th, 2003 06:22 pm...and he's a white elephant. A ceramic one, to be more specific, that I made when I was bored- sculpture in willow clay (low fire), and the joys of underglaze. A picture is attached, and more can be found in my LJ.
That's not the question, though.
I'll be putting fiber-optic glass tusks into him as soon as I can find them in the proper color (I swear, all the local stores only stock orange)- however, does anyone have a suggestion for a different way to create tusks? I've been trying to get the glass ones for over two months now, even going so far as to record the times the stores restock and asking them to hold the tusks, but no success yet, and I need to finish this one soon. Brainstorming time!
Then, I'm going to clothe him- red velvet, all the trappings befitting a holy white elephant. Question is, what trappings? Should I learn to embroider? Buy some trim? Or do all you incredibly creative people have better ideas?
Lastly, anyone know what the best glue is to stick ceramic back together, as seamlessly as possible? I broke his tail off. :(

BTW: if you can't see the image, I'm sorry: I'm hosting the photo on Villagephotos.com, and they have bandwidth restrictions on free users. Anyone know a better option for someone who is broke, and yet wants to show off and get inspired and such?
