beaded lariat necklaces
Aug. 18th, 2008 11:22 amHere are some lariat necklaces I’ve made lately. I love the versatility of the lariat style…you can wear it long, layer it, etc. Plus, they are simple to make (here’s a basic tutorial). I use a hodge-podge of beads…glass, plastic, wood. I love to take apart jewelry from thrift stores and garage sales and such and use the beads on these. I am also obsessed with getting beads on clearance. The one I made the other night is all reds and oranges. I'll call it "Cherries of Fire":

This one needs a name. It's all blacks and purples and browns and golds. I'll call it "Peacock Soup."

I love wooden beads because they are cheap, but they don't look cheap like some plastic beads can.

light beachy greens and white. hmmmm ..... "Shore Thing."

You may have noticed I'm not into symmetry. I like to icorporate a few unique beads into every necklace. I like the beauty of the beads to make the necklace pretty, instead of relying on patterns. Patterns make my brain hurt, anyway.

Golds and yellows and oranges and ambers.... "Sunset Wheat" which happens to be one of my favorite beers...And we've come full circle! Beads and Beer!!
