Full length body pillow cases?

Hi all, next week i'll be getting a body pillow, but i don't want to pay the same amount maybe a bit more for the pillow cases.. Would it be possible to just use a plain single sheet cut to fit (but with a bit of room so it fits in), sew up the end and then add velcro or push buttons at the other end? I'm hoping to be able to decorate the cover some how.. or is there a easier way to do this?
