I have the cutest kid alive. She is having surgery the week of Thanksgiving (and her birthday). She won't be able to talk (tonsils, adenoids, and some ear action) and has to be in bed for about a week. She is six soon to be seven. Here's the kicker...she broke her arm this week. I am trying to think of fun things she can do in her room (she's crafty and 6 years old) but she has only her left hand(and she is right handed) to do crafts with... It can't be complicated because she can't ask me questions. Please help me make this time not super miserable for her!!!

I need some ideas on gifts in a jar. I am so poor (just graduated college, daughter is having surgery at the end of the month, etc) and even if I did have $$ I won't have time to shop for those I want to gift. I figure I'm gonna make a ton of the them for Christmas because a meal, snack, or bath stuff in a jar is something that will be used.

If you have done a gift in a jar what did you put in it? What would you like to get in a jar? How have you decorated the jar? It doesn't need to be limited to food (though this will probably be easiest. I do have little nephews 18 months and 12 months... is there something cool I could put in there for them?

Anything you're willing to share with me would be appreciated. I am sorry this is text only. I promise I will update everyone.

Excuse typos and grammar...my sleeping pill kicked in faster than anticipated :)
