sewing organizers

craftgrrlDoes anyone have any ideas for making a sewing organizer? I don't like the sewing boxes I've seen for sale at Walmart and Joanne's Fabric (they're all too expensive for me anyway), but my sewing zone is a disaster area. I know I've heard about roll-up sewing organizers made of cloth (which would be extra cool, since I could carry it to SCA events with me), but I've never seen one. I'm also thinking about making several small organizers for needles, thread, etc., and tossing them all into a wicker basket I have.
Any ideas?
