Finished last night.....

Started, oh, I dunno, about 7? 8? years ago.
Full Viking Rune set, w leather carry bag, and little leather rune booklet.

I finished the booklet's cover this morning.
The strap is machine sewn on, with a gold tone snap. The runes are painted on with good old acrylic craft paint.
I made the insides last night.

Good old card stock with a old fashioned dip ink pen and several calligraphy nibs.
Pierced down the center with an awl, and sewn onto the leather cover with upholstery thread.
The leather bag is one of a bunch that I made using the misc pieces I had from some leather scrap bags I purchased from American Science & Surplus
Since none of the pieces were large enough to do anything useful with by themselves, I cut them into triangles and sewed them together into bags.

~Bottom view so you can get an idea of what I mean.~
And then....

The money shot.
The runes themselves were engraved with my dremel onto flat 'river rocks' in white quartz that I got at the hobby store.
It took about 2 bags to find enough flat ones to make the full 25.
I then used some gold enamel paint from the hardware store to paint the runes on.
I used The Book of Runes, by Ralph Blume for the runes and their interpretations.
and there you have it.
Bye now!
