I had this okay-looking fleece scarf from my aunt last Christmas. I decided this morning to make it into something functional that I'd use. I also wanted to wear it to work this morning since it was ultra chilly, so I only had about 20 minutes to pull it off...

The first thing I did was cut the fringe off. I should have taken a photo first, but oh well.

and the lovely scarf:

It was also a little too long, so I cut about 5 or 6 inches off one end.
It was easy to do, since I just cut along the stripes.

Then I cut that piece in half, width-wise

Then I pinned the fucker down

(kind of hard to see the pins, I know...)

and then I just used a whip stitch to get it on there.

Here it is in action:

It fits my sunglasses perfectly (which is awesome because I always lose them or leave them on my head, and there is something about people who wear sunglasses on their heads that really bothers me.
It also holds my keys or cell phone or whatever else I need it to hold (I found out at lunch that it holds a normal sized juice box awesomely.) And I've been keeping my pens in it too. (I tried to crop out most of my messy desk!).

Hope someone gets inspired!
