Sealing shrink plastic
Apr. 15th, 2009 12:23 pmHi all! My name is Peta, and this is my first post to this community. I'm an Australian crafter - I'm currently learning to knit, I sew and have begun making jewellery too.
I'm posting as I've been making some shrink plastic pendants etc for jewellery recently. I'm wondering how I can seal my shrink plastic creations so that they won't wear eventually. I've been using permanent markers (Sharpies specifically) and watercolour pencils on my plastic. I have Mod Podge Gloss Lustre, but I suspect this wouldn't work too well as a sealer. Is this correct, should I use something else?
And now some jewellery I've made so far.

These earrings were made with vintage flower and leaf beads, as well as brand new seed beads.

Same as the first pair, these were made with vintage flower and leaf beads and brand new seed beads.

Made with vintage flower beads on an adjustable ring base.

Made with vintage flower beads on a new pin back. I think this is my favourite of this batch.
