My best friend has fallen in love with those embroidered pillows which are everywhere lately. I decided i was going to make her a couple, and i was going to do flowers out of buttons, mostly because that is relatively easy. I was browsing in walmart and found the Aunt Martha's iron ons, and i found cow ones, as she likes cows as much as i do, and i thought they would be a lot cuter than flowers. I just got a remnant of fabric because i didn't want to buy any large amount, since i didn't even know which sort of fabric i should use

This came out pretty horribly, especially the udders. It's so dorky looking that i kind of like it though. I just have a question as to what sort of material is the easiest to do this sort of thing on? Also, my stitches don't line up very well, or make a very smooth looking line and i had an iron on line to follow; are there any easy tips to follow to make it come out a little bit better if i decide to tackle a larger project? I back stitched the whole thing basically, with 2 strands (i'm too used to cross stitch :/ ) Maybe i should've used one?
