soldered necklaces
Feb. 14th, 2011 12:42 amHey crafty friends! I made some soldered necklaces before with glass and flowers, now I tried my hand at making them with other things. Namely, teef! Shark, stingray, and dog teeth. Recipe for casting a spell? MORE LIKE SWEET NECKLACES, YO. Without further ado:
I tried to make them look a little less "beach souvenir-y" and more like proper jewelry, whatever that means. I think the silver makes them look a little more like tiny pieces of art instead of just "a toof." I did these with copper tape and lead-free solder, then filed or sanded any bumps. The dog tooth and one of the stingray teeth had to be glued into it's little cap after I soldered them, because I was scared they weren't going to hang in there well enough. How embarrassing would it be if my handiwork FELL APART?!? D:

I also made another glass and flower one, but you guys already saw those before. Here's a pic (towards the middle of the post) if you're curious anyways!
