I'd been planning on making this sucker for a while, but the only problem was trying to figure out exactly how to do it. But, alas, it is complete... and I think it's kind of epic. It's also probably one of the geekiest things I've ever made.
I made a Visual Kei Corset.
No, no. Not a corset that was inspired by some Visual Kei PV or anything. It is a LITERAL Visual Kei corset.
As in, it took over a dozen Visual Kei posters getting chopped to make her.
Ooooooh yeah

She took roughly 4 days to fully put together--including cutting all the fliers up. There are 12 panels, with the back panel being fully grommeted (with the good, quality grommets that I bought from a corset-making supplies company) and is lined with black satin. Over the top, to give the corset some protection from the outside world, is a layer of clear plastic vinyl (04). The lines you see are black satin ribbons down the seaming (which I did with a serger and the burgandy is bias tape to secure everything inside.
I'm actually really upset that it doesn't fit me--I foolishly made it to my old measurements, which are about 3 inches bigger than I am now. And, since I refuse to cut it, I'm going to probably sell it and start over. A friend of mine asked for a tutorial, so if anyone is interested I may put one up. :3
